God Bless Texas!

March 2nd, 1836. Texas Independence was declared in this humble frontier hall at Washington-on-the-Brazos:

I wonder how many firearms from the Revolution still exist?

I once examined a flintlock musket owned by an old lady in Taylor, Texas. It had a big star stamped in the lockplate, so I suspected it may have been one of a batch of guns ordered/shipped/ from New Orleans for the Texian revolt.

However, that was 40 years ago and I knew little about them then.
