2012 POTUS election

The 2012 POTUS election votes have been counted and it is over! We all voted and we all know who is the victor.
I don't like the outcome; however, it is over. Can we learn from it and plan for the future rather than continue belaboring the voting results? Seccession, IMO, is not a viable option, neither is beating the breast, donning sack cloths and ashes. Let's move forward as a country, eh?
The wise and the informed will either learn from the past two POTUS contests or not?

Thank you Old Gringo.
I was going to make a similar post, but didn't have the proper words or the courage.
IMO, the discussion of secession is ludicrous and doesn't deserve a minute of my time. Beating the breast and sack cloths have more merit.
Let's get the Texas CHL Forum back on track to it's original mission.

I learned two things very clearly over the past six years. One, the Republican party doesn't care about fiscal responsibility. Two, I'm a sucker if I support freeloading ingrates. There's not a lot I can do about the first, except stop voting for them. However, the second lesson opens the door to a wide variety of actions.
My employer pays our annual bonus mid February of the following year. We had a good year, so it's worth sticking around for another three months, but I'm tendering my resignation after I get my 2012 bonus. By then, I should also have my shelter in place, and I figure I can clear $1000 to $1500 per month tax free. That's less than my after-tax income now, but more than enough to live comfortably after I use my bonus to erase the mortgage on my hunting cabin. Best of all, I will have the satisfaction of knowing I'm not supporting the ravenous beast.
What did Old Wise Gringo learn from the past two POTUS contests?

What did Old White Guy learn from the past two POTUS contests?
There is 'no new thing new under the sun'. Bob Dylan sang it nearly a half century ago:
"The Times They Are A-Changin"
{look it up}

The lesson I learned from this election is that America is infected with terminal stupidity. You can't fix stupid.

Educate your young kids to be free thinkers, IS the answer.

Sorry but he was elected President of the United States, not dictator or tyrant. He will take an oath in January where he places his hand on a Bible and swears before God and the entire population that he "will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States." It is over when he lives by that oath and not until. The same goes for the Congressmen and Senators who take a similar oath. "Preserve, protect and defend" is very clear. So is "shall not be infringed."

You are a pair of wise men and all this secession nonsense is exactly that, a bunch of complete nonsense. Instead of trying to "take our ball and go home" we need to put all of our efforts into defending our freedoms and preserving our god given rights, that's what this forum is all about. America is the greatest strongest country in the world and we need to remember that, one president cant change that in just two terms no matter how hard he may try.

God Bless America!!!

Read it all the way through. I'll give you the punch line..
America’s strength isn’t in numbers, it’s in her soul.
Hear this final prophecy America: only one man can kill the Republic, and it isn’t Barack Obama. The one man who will kill your Republic is the one man who will last give up and renounce it.
Don’t you dare be that man.
Never thought I'd get a wake up call from a Frenchman.
Interesting Times, indeed.
