:patriot: :tiphat: To all those that gave their lives that fateful day. My grandfather was there that day, stationed on the Arizona....he was on liberty at the time. I am here because of that.

I also wonder why God's Sovereigh Grace allowed me to be here. My Dad followed Pearl on the USS Lunga Point. Out of his whole Task Force his was the only ship to return. They took 3 Suicide hits that were repairable.
Like you I am here & cannot stand idle by & watch. :mad5

my 6th grade teacher was 18 years old, driving down the road, suddenly planes started shooting up the road and the ships...she told us it took a few seconds to understand what was happening, stop and duck in the car. She was a student teacher at the time. They had to start taking away certain colors of crayons from the kids. Her fiance' was a mutinion runner, one of the couple who survived the war, he transported between Pearl and a small unoccupied island the military used. Mrs Persons was my favorite teacher, she made Hawaiian history come alive for us...probably because she'd lived it.

That generation is almost gone. To them it was the Kennedy assassination, Challenger crash, Oklahoma bombing and 9/11 all rolled into one. Everyone vividly remember where they were when the heard the news. They would remind me, about it every time December 7 rolled around.

Now that reminder must come from us.

Be vigilant, be prepared. :patriot:

My Wifey's Uncle was stationed at Peal on this day. He was a Doctor. Needless to say he had his hands full this day 71 years ago. To top of the day for Doc, his Wife gave birth to his son Pat in the Pearl Harbor hospital as well.

Happy Birthday Pat! Miss you Doc.

To the "Greatest Generation" I say thank you for your sacrifices & for your courage. I would also like to extend a sincere apology because we have been unable to uphold the values & ideals that you fought so hard (and so many died) for. :patriot:
