That guy is refreshing, and we need a whole lot more like him. I "liked" him on FB after you posted his other video a few days ago. The reason I say we need more like him is that guys like him challenge the stereotypes of gun ownership being the realm of rednecks and thugs, or that conservatism is the realm of white people and racists. He reminds me of Alfonzo Rachel. The more black people speak up and articulate conservative ideas—particularly
young and obviously literate in contemporary culture conservative black people—the sooner we can get past this meme that liberals gleefully repeat........that if you disagree with a black person on matters of policy, it's because you're a racist, not because they are bad policies.
Right now, white conservatives have been successfully cast by mainstream media in the role of the clichéd "dumb [substitute racial epithet]" from several decades ago. "Oh, you're white, therefore you are stupid racist, therefore whatever comes out of your mouth is stupid racism." ......Like they think of us as Amos and Andy, but wearing white face instead of black face.
ALL of it is racist. I can't stand it. And the trouble is that most white conservatives just shut down when this charge is hurled at us, not because we're wrong, but because we can't win an argument with crazy people......so instead we just clam up, and that is exactly what liberals want white conservatives to do: shut up, and go away. So they throw down the race card to shut us up.
So the more young, dynamic, intelligent black conservatives we can find to raise their voices out there in popular media, the better for conservatives as a larger group regardless of our individual skin color. Liberals won't dare to call these black Americans racist, because by the liberal definition, a person of color can never be racist. Liberals might disagree with guys like Alfonzo Rachel or colionnoir, but they have to do it respectfully or risk being labeled as racists themselves. When the conservative is black, it takes the race card out of the picture, and the issues have to be discussed on their merits. When the conservative is
young and black, it takes away the label of "Uncle Tom" leveled at the elder statesmen among black conservatives....men like Thomas Sowell and Clarence Thomas. Bring on the young and the hip black conservatives. We
need them badly.
BLACK people need them badly, because conservatism is the ONLY place in the American social and political landscape where a person will be judged entirely by the content of their character, and NOT by the color of their skin.
