Anyone going to FW gun show tomorrow?

I'm going primarily to see how crazy things are. Also looking to pickup a 9mm compact or subcompact (would like to checkout the shield but not holding my breath about finding one). More of a want than a need.
Maybe another set of magpul backup sites and an AR optic of some kind.
Thought I'd get there early and see what people in line are selling.

I believe it is actually the week after Christmas, not this weekend.

Actually there is one both weekends. The one this weekend is 850 tables (Lone star gun show). The one next weekend is 1200 tables (FW Original gun show).

The wife and I were going to go, but unfortunately on thursday I had to have emergency gall bladder surgery and I dont think my stomach can take all of the crowds and pushing. I hope you guys can post what you see going on I am curious also how big of a madhouse it will be. I am also curious about the price gouging. Please guys give a full report if you go.

Thank You

Normally I would be tempted to go even if I wasn't planning on buying anything in case I ran across a good deal on something. However, due to the insanity of the moment, I am going to skip it. Folks are going to go in there with wads of cash ready to buy up everything at any price like a Biblical plague of locusts eating all the crops. So, thanks, but no thanks.

its going to be a price gouge-athon. I cant really fault the dealers, I mean if the market is going up so do prices.

But when I'm seeing wasr's go for 800+ dollars, its time to step back.

I'm not sure how I missed that...althouth I agree with others in that the prices will be crazy. I'll try the one next week and leave this one alone.

It sounds like time to step forward and clear out the WASR that's sitting in my closet.

Just left, it is incredibly busy, even a line to get in and we got there at 10. One vendor had a line that looked 30 deep for NICS. Only saw three aks, one for 1300 and one for 1700. Nothing special about them. ARs ranged from 1800 to over 3000 and there were plenty available. Several vendors who normally have a good selection were sold out though. Pmags ranged from 40-60 depending on style and vendor, steel mags were 25-30.

I got there more than an hour before it opened and the line was pretty long. When I got in some of the people in front of me were already completing their paperwork for ARs. The prices were as previously stated. Entry level ARs that could have been purchased for under $700 at Dallas Market Hall just after Thanksgiving were $2K. Colts were close to $3k.
Glock mags which still had a price tag of $23.99 were being sold for $45. The 30 rd Glock mags were $90.
What I really found interesting was several dealers who only brought ARs. They must have been priced lower than the others because by 9:45 they were packing up their paperwork and heading out the back. One of these vendors brought 100 ARs with him. Many of the ARs he sold were bought by other vendors before the show ever opened. I'm sure some of those ARs were being resold at other tables at a much higher price.
