Civil Air Patrol Qualifications

Yesterday, today, tomorrow and Sunday I have the distinct pleasure of helping the Civil Air Patrol qualify about 150 young men and women for their shooting qualification. Apparently the National Guard at Camp Walters declined their request to use their range, as did the local police and sheriff ranges, so the local chaplain of the CAP called our club president and asked if we could help them out. Since the president has to work this week, he asked me (club event coordinator) if I would and luckily my schedule was such that I could in fact do so. We had 40 kids yesterday, about five adults, two NRA certified RSOs (myself included), several senior cadets keeping order, and a whole lot of fun (except for the cold - I hate the cold).
I found my job was to just stand around and make sure club members were on their best behavior which wasn't a problem, they had their own RSO and he had plenty of help with young men and women who took it upon themselves to ensure all went well. While I did keep my eyes open, they were very disciplined for young folks. I was happy to help them out, and they were thankful for the use of the club.
