Alpine Range Visit

Finally had a chance to visit Alpine Shooting Range. Went Sunday with my #1 son-in-law who lives almost around the corner on Bennett Lawson. Had my other son-in-law and a future S-I-L as well. Hadn't planned to got shooting so I had nothing except my EDC, but did get to shoot the local S-I-L's Springfield 9mm and his Ruger M77 30-06. The other S-I-L had an AR in 223 he bought just before the election. I liked the place a lot and the folks were friendly and helpful. It was quite busy but were got on ranges quickly and had a great time. We shot at the 100 and 50 Yd Rifle range and the 50 Yd Pistol also. Only complaint I would have is no FMJ rifle. The future SIL had never shot before so I spent most of my time helping him. He was shooting the XD 9mm and was all over the place and though he settled down and improved has a long way to go. I though maybe it was the pistol but I was able to keep them all in a pretty good group even with my vision problems. Definitely want to visit again and try the shotgun facilities. I had an enjoyable conversation with a fellow a probably in his lat 70's shooting off hand on the 50 yd with a Smith .22 auto and a Ruger .45 LC SA. The guy was steady as a rock with both and I could cover 25 rounds of the .45 with my hand, except for on he dropped into the outside ring low. I told him that on took out the spleen. Probably too late but #2 visited the Academy in McKinney Saturday and bought several Tapco?? 30Rd AR mags for 13.99. Probably sold out by now.
