TxDOT halts directional signs for gun shows

Tickets to Houston-area gun shows are still available, but taxpayer-funded directions are not.
Texas Department of Transportation officials in Houston are suspending the use of freeway message signs for firearms-related events, citing concerns about their use days after the Newtown. Conn., school shooting.
"We had several people say 'Hey, this is bad timing,'" said Stuart Corder, director of transportation operations for TxDOT's Houston district. "We understand there is a wide a range of opinions and we've got to be sensitive to people's concerns."

Then they better not use them for Bridal Shows, or any other NON Government Function!

Absolutely absurd to single out one event because some people get offended to easily. If you dont like it, dont read the damn sign!

Wow they now allow employees to carry chl but do this? Caving to political pressure apparently. Sad.

typically the bridal shows occur at the same time and place as the gun show. Which is convenient? If you are interested in gun shows than chances are you already know where to find one or at the very least you can google it.
Not a fan of thoses signs anyway.
state oficial 1: we have some money in the budget should we spend it on reducing congestion and long traffic times?
state official 2: no, what we need is a sign! It will tell exactly how much time they are spending in traffic. Because what the people want is metric of how much of their life they spend wasting away in their car.
