I see alot of laws being cited in posts and was wondering where you guys get those. Do you just know them by heart or are you getting them from the hand book and re-type them every time?

Step 1: Go to Google.com
Step 2: type in "Texas Penal Code"
Enjoy :)

The really good ones know them by heart. The rest use Google.
The handgun lawbook that you got in your CHL class is available online here:

I have a Lexis Nexis program on my computer. It has the Penal Code, Traffic Code, And many other codes on it. It also loads onto my Treo.
For linking to the law I have
http://tlo2.tlc.state.tx.us/statutes/statutes.html bookmarked. From that page, you can go to the main page and look up the status of bills that have been filed.

There are links to Texas Statutes and certain law enforcement agencies in the
"Government resources and CHL links" section of the forum. If you are away from your regular computer and don't have access to your "favorites" then this may help.
I've also changed my family home page
CottonFamily.com to include several links that my wife often uses in her real estate business and that I use frequently. They are listed on the main page. There are also links to favorites and utility links on the site. That gives me easy access to my commonly-used links from any computer.
