If this bill gets passed what happens to pistols, like my Glock 19, with a 15 rounder? Will there be some sort of plug like you put in a shotgun to make it legal?

Would all depend on how the bill was written. If existing mags were not grandfathered you would probably have to replace them with 10 rd mags.

Just replace your 15 rounder with two 10 rounders so the world will be safer. Duh!

No, the way it has been publicized, all Glocks will be banned. Semi-autos "capable" of accepting a magazine of a capacity of greater than 10 rounds and that have one "military" feature (rail) will be banned --unless the actual bill is different than the language posted by DiFi.

That's what I thought about Obama's chance last November.

If there wasn't enough support in IL to leave a similar bill on the table then it doesn't stand a chance outside IL.

I'm not saying there won't be some kind of ban, but it won't be her bill.

The boys and girls in DC can't pass gas right now, odds of them passing anything else are pretty slim.

Not sure what proposal I read and if this should have been posted elsewhere I apologize. I currently own a G-19 and a G-26 and have a G-19 on order since my wife decided to make the 26 "her gun". I can use the 19 mag in the 26 but not the other way around that's why I asked about a plug. Semi-autos "capable" of accepting a magazine of a capacity of greater than 10 rounds and that have one "military" feature (rail) will be banned. Doesn't this include most SA pistols?

I don't think there is any chance that any handgun is going to get banned. I think the best the left could hope for is something similar to what CA has which would mean using 10 rd mags in everything. IMHO, I don't see that happening either.
At this point everything is just speculation. I don't even try to play out all the what ifs. I can tell you this, if it was the DF proposal you were reading, it doesn't stand a chance in the senate much less the house.

I am curious about this part as well, my 30-30 that is older than I am has a rail mounted scope...seems to be a bit far off base to ban that feature.

Well, the "military feature" thing is the question that has to be answered to answer that question. I'm assuming a rail will be one such feature. I have no idea what other military feature a handgun might have because it's a completely made up term to begin with. But, assuming things like rails and laser sights are considered military features, guns like the 1911 would be OK as long as you didn't put a laser on it. OTOH, maybe the 1911 will be considered a military weapon....who knows. I'm just pointing out that the language is written to make every semi-auto handgun with a detachable mag subject to the ban since any such gun can be fitted with a mag of over 10 round capacity, and said to have a "military" feature.
