Wow - what a fantastic finish!
Only problem - it's too pretty to put into a holster or shoot.

I agree, but I bought to look at. Got plenty of beater shooters and smokers.

Looking at the 2nd pic, I don't think the finish is dry yet...

just kidding.
It looks awesome, it always amazes me how "wet" the Royal Blue looks. Who did the work?

If it's "Royal Blue" then Colt had to do the work.

Yessir, Colt Custom Shop (not sure if they did it inhouse or farmed it out)

No such thing as to pretty to shoot.

Take it out and use it, it's like buying a Ferrari to not drive it.
Well more like putting a really nice paint job on a Crown Victoria to let it sit on the driveway.
Still a beautiful job though.

wow, very nice. Note to self, when shopping for a Colt 1911 dont worry about the finish because you are going to get royal blue no matter what! Really impressed with the difference it makes but you most definitely have to shoot it! I would anyways, cant let anything just sit. Thats no fun!

I have had that finish done by Fords Guns and love it. It is more durable than it looks but i wouldnt carry it. I am procrastinating sending in a Colt Delta Elite and GC NM to get that finish done.
