And you can't have a poll tax, but BATFE can charge you taxes just to transfer a firearm?

My guess would be because gun transfers involve commerce, and voting (supposedly) does not. Perhaps we need to tax lobbyists and political donations? Oh wait, can't violate 1A with a tax ...APynckel wrote:And you can't have a poll tax, but BATFE can charge you taxes just to transfer a firearm?
There are those who say that there is not a constitutionally guaranteed right to vote, and it has been so stated by the Supreme Court.APynckel wrote:Why is it that voting is a right....
I like to read Boortz, but he says it himself: Don't believe anything you read on his site (or anything you read elsewhere) unless it is something you already know to be true, or unless you verify it with other sources. In other words, feel free to do your own homework on it.Somebody needs to inform our attorney general that there is no constitutional right to vote in a presidential election. Really … this isn’t hard. All Eric Holder needs to do is read the Supreme Court’s decision in Bush v. Gore (2000). There the Supreme Court plainly states that there is no Constitutional right to vote in a presidential election. There’s no grey area there … the right does NOT exist. Period. You would think that the chief lawyer of the U.S. government would understand that. But apparently not, if it doesn’t fit into his political views.
I've transferred a number of firearms, and haven't yet paid anything to BATFE. The FFL, yes, but not BATFE. (Are you talking about the NFA tax?)APynckel wrote:And you can't have a poll tax, but BATFE can charge you taxes just to transfer a firearm?
Yes I'm referring to the NFA tax. "Shall not be infringed" right?sjfcontrol wrote:I've transferred a number of firearms, and haven't yet paid anything to BATFE. The FFL, yes, but not BATFE.
