Rebecca Jones - The Big Debate

To quote a friend of mine, "Having people like this on our side is why we lose these battles so often. No, Ms. Jones, I will not compromise, not one little bit. And my gun ownership has NOTHING to do with sport. Shameful."
In her post she says that she "feel[s] “gun control” IS an important part of American policy" and that "regulation is not necessarily infringing upon our rights". Is is hard to speak to people like this and I run in to it more and more each day it seems. Everyone is on the path to compromise in one way or another when they do not even understand what they are compromising. She even calls it "ridiculous" to think of arming teachers when all we do by limiting it is taking away their rights and preventing them from potentially ensuring the rights of those around him/her. I am not sure how to even deal with those who teeter in the middle so much, you want your guns but dont want everyone else to have them?! or want to limit peoples new interest in them after you have had the freedom yourself? How is that ok? How is any of this nonesense ok? Ugh, same old crazy talk going on else where, but as hinted to above, these type of gun enthusiasts really hurt us more than they help us by offering up compromise for all of us.
