I received the following response from Congressman Weber. He is now my congressman since Ron Paul retired.

In my letter I introduced myself with my NRA and TSRA life membership and other pertinent facts about my thoughts on any further infringements on my second amendment rights.
Dear Mr. Anygunanywhere,

Thank you for contacting my office regarding your Second Amendment rights. Your thoughts on this important matter are both welcomed and appreciated.

As a proud Texan and strong supporter of the Second Amendment, I stand with you in support of the right to keep and bear arms and will oppose any new gun control legislation. The National Rifle Association has continuously given me an A rating, due to my track record of steadfast support for our Second Amendment rights.

As you may know, responsible gun owners have often been unfairly punished for the wrong-doing of individuals who choose to abuse the right to bear arms, through the killing of innocent people. Stricter gun laws will not stop these types of tragedies from occurring, but will only infringe upon the rights of law-abiding citizens. Legislation must stop targeting hunters and responsible gun-owners. We must instead focus on the real problems -- the destruction of the family and an overtly violent media. As a Member of Congress, I will fight to protect the Second Amendment in the face of special interest groups seeking to take away our rights as citizens.

Thank you again for contacting my office. It is a privilege to serve you in the United States House of Representatives. Should you have any further comments or questions on this or any other issue, please do not hesitate to contact me or my staff in my Washington D.C. or my District offices. For more information, or to stay informed on important issues, I encourage you to sign up for my electronic newsletter at http://weber.house.gov/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

I work for you.

Sincerely,

Randy K. Weber
Member of Congress
I have not contacted Senator Cruz yet. I did receive Senator Cornyn's standard response which left a lot to be desired.

I too am glad Ron Paul retired.

I have read some great reports on Sen. Cruz in the media. I sincerely hope you are correct on Sen. Cornyn. I was not happy with his vote on the fiscal deal, but I suppose that was politics at work.

If the Republicans had not passed the fiscal bill, the Democrats would have increased their margin in the Senate and they would have taken control of the House in the 2014 mid-term elections. You cannot be responsible for raising taxes on 98% of the voters and expect to stay in power. Obama played that one well, like it or not.

Chas I agree, Ron Paul was not what I like to see in our congress.

Webber is not my representative.
However I did take the time to look up his website
and leave a voice mail on his phone thanking him for his position.
I hope others will also. It is important our representatives know when there postion is appreciated.
