Mailed my packet in on Dec. 19th

PIN received 1st week of Feb.

Still "processing."

On the positive side:

I believe if I get my license after my B-Day (April 2) I get an extra year before it expires!

Is that correct? Or am I just trying to make myself feel better?

Now, this is what I don't get? Why have you waited 80+ days and there are folks getting their CHLs in less than 50? This is frustrating, I'm sure. And, if this happens w/me, I'm going to raise Cain!!

I'd call them tomorrow and find out what gives.

Sorry, TexasCHLers...I'm mad I tell you, I'm mad

Nothing to be apologize for, glockoneniner. Sometimes the squeaky wheel needs some grease to get things moving! Pick up that phone and demand answers...politely of course!

You too, mikeKC!

FWIW, processing only took two weeks in my case. I'll bet you're a short timer too. All indications are that things are moving faster in Austin now.

I noticed you are in Austin. I can almost promise you it's a delay related to the background investigation in Travis County. They take their time. I received mine in 85 days so you should be getting close. ;-)

It figures that being in Travis county would be the holdup!

I've heard that the DA here is not really CHL friendly.

Mine was 92 days door-to-door last year. But it did arrive a month after my birthday, so I got four years and 11 months on the expiration.

So, yep; if yours isn't approved until after your birthday, it will expire 4/2/2012.
