Letter from Rep. Gene Green (D)

I sent a letter to all of my representatives recently, through the form Roger provides, informing them of my stance on the 2nd Amendment. I received a response letter from Democratic US Rep. Gene Green just yesterday, less than a week turnaround. I will reproduced part of it here.
"Under Texas law we have the right to protect ourselves or our property in self-defense. I am OPPOSED to restricting law abiding citizens' access to firearms. Gun control proposals may be well intentioned when the aim is to reduced crime, but these laws simply do not work. Criminals continue to gain access to guns, and restricting the ability of law abiding citizens to defend themselves is not a solution to our overall crime problem.
I WILL NOT support legislation that restricts law abiding citizens' ability to acquire or possess firearms, and have consistently support efforts to protect our Second Amendment rights, and believe law abiding cites should not be prevented from possessing, selling or using firearms in a lawful manner. "
It goes on say more of the same. Just glad to know some Dems still believe in 2nd Amendment.
