Rifle in truck at university?

I tried to post earlier but couldn't log in.
I wanna go to the range tomorrow and school(university) is around 20 miles from my house. I'd like to take my rifles with me if it would be lawful to leave them in the truck until I get back from class. I know I can leave my pistols in there concealed but I wasn't sure about rifles.
I used the search function but couldn't find anything. Sorry about the late post and thanks for any responses.

I personaly would just keep them out of sight and proceed as planned as long as you don't have to enter any type of secured areas with your truck you should be ok.

If you can leave pistols concealed in your vehicle - presumably, because a CHL doesn't permit concealed carry in a school - why not rifles? (I assume you're not going to leave them visible in a rifle rack in the back window of your pickup!)

Well, I know the law covers me leaving my carry pieces in the truck, but rifles wouldn't be covered in that section. Add in whatever they're defining as a "weapons free zone" or whatever and I've already got a headache.

Actually the law prohibiting your carrying your concealed handgun into the school premises covers ALL firearms.
Texas Penal Code
§46.03. Places weapons prohibited.
(a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally,
knowingly, or recklessly possesses or goes with a firearm, illegal
knife, club, or prohibited weapon listed in Section 46.05(a):
(1) on the physical premises of a school or educational
institution, any grounds or building on which an activity sponsored by
a school or educational institution is being conducted, or a passenger
transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution, whether
the school or educational institution is public or private, unless
pursuant to written regulations or written authorization of the
institution;
(c) In this section:
(1) "Premises" has the meaning assigned by Section 46.035.
Texas Penal Code 46.035
(f) In this section:
(3) "Premises" means a building or a portion of a building.
The term does not include any public or private driveway, street,
sidewalk or walkway, parking lot, parking garage, or other parking
area.
Having your long gun in the vehicle on school grounds is not a violation.
The Texas "Weapons Free Zone" is simply a penalty enhancement. That means if you commit a crime while in possession of a firearm in the zone, the penalty for said crime is raised.
