Ok to have someone else drop off rifle at gunsmith's?

So I need some gunsmithing done, but the only one available is 2 hours away. My wife is going that direction and offered to drop it off at the gunsmith's. I'm pretty sure that's legal, but I just wanted to check.

Is it legal to have someone other than a spouse drop the gun off at the gunsmith's?

good to go. you can give/loan/whatever your guns to anyone whom you believe to be legal to have them.

No gun registration or for that matter anyway to prove whether it is hers or yours when it comes down to it.

As long as she is not a felon, you're good to go.

I would venture a guess that only the person dropping it off can pick it back up. So assuming she's able and interesting in doing both ways, y'all should be fine.

They can drop off and pick up. If a different person picks up, it's a 4473 process, even if it's the original owner.
