The Maryland Senate passed new legislation and now it goes to the house:
1. Licensing requires fingerprinting to buy a gun
2. Take an 8 hour training course to buy a gun
3. Enhanced background check.
4. Anyone involuntarily committed for mental illness for any length of time prohibited from owning a gun.
5. Anyone who voluntarily agrees to inpatient mental health care may have their guns prohibited if the doctors say so.
5. Assault weapons banned
6. Magazines limited to 10 rounds

Amen. Did this bill already pass the House? Has the governor signaled that he'll sign it?

Maryland is a one party state. It will pass the House and get signed by the Governor.

Anybody else see history repeating itself? A country split in half over ideology. Last time they claimed it was about slavery when in fact it was about freedom. This time they claim it is about the children when in fact it is about enslavement.
The next few years will be very interesting.

Good thing I'm law abiding. I could own that state if those laws go into effect.

Joshua says he was eating a pastry during snack time and trying to shape it into a mountain, the teacher said it looked like a gun and took him to the principal's office. Joshua's parents were called, he has been suspended for two days

Our past was a federated republic of states. Our future is a country ruled by city-states.
Hmm...this seems to have happened before.

Maybe we should have stricter background checks on these nutty teachers who are somehow allowed to spend time with our kids five days a week.

They didn't say it, but #1 and #2 are registration plain and simple. They're just too chicken to call it what it is.

I will feel so much safer now if I ever decide to go back to Baltimore for a visit. Now I know that those druggies have taken a course before purchasing their guns. Just like Chicago.
