Kid's birthdays

So both my kiddos have birthdays this month and both enjoy shooting. So I've decided to get my daughter (turning 16) a rifle (Marlin 60, already bought) which is what she prefers to shoot. My son (turning 14) likes pistol best, so I'm considering a single action .22 revolver. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I'm thinking about getting him a Legacy Puma .22lr. Bud's has one for ~$150. Anyone know anything about this pistol?

I don't know that revolver but was going to suggest maybe a double action, unless he's specifically into single's. I know Taurus makes several models, in varying lengths that are very reasonable.

I've been intrigued by the reissued Ruger Bearcat, FWIW. I almost bought one, but wanted a DA for practice sake, so's I got the LCR .22 that was next to it instead. It was a think-about-it decision, though.

Thanks for the thoughts and advice, folks. It is much appreciated. However, I decided to go a different way.
Mom needed to go to the store today for supplies for her Rum Soaked Fruit Cake (it's NOTHING like a traditional fruit cake, but that's what it's called). On the way back I decided to stop in at our local pawn shop, just to see what they had. And what they had was this:
It's a Heritage Rough Rider .22lr. They had it, brand new, for $200. Since I had been looking at one of these on Bud's, and it was the same price (minus shipping & FFL fees), I snagged it. So now I've got his birthday present!
And just for posterity, here is my daughter's (soon-to-be hers) Marlin 60.
Ooooo. I can't wait to take them out to the range after their birthdays!!!!!

I started mine a lot younger on a single shot bolt action chipmunk. Great little gun. Someday a grandchild (not for a LONG time) will learn to shoot on that gun.
My son now likes the 10-22 I've had for ever. I keep thinking about a bolt action just to slow down the shooting to save ammo. Before it didn't matter, but now to costly.

Pawpaw bought them Crickets a few years back and they've loved 'em. But they've outgrown them and, now, they have different interests. My daughter still likes rifle and she's a good shot. She takes her time, lines up her shots, and slowly squeezes. She doesn't get in a hurry. So for her, the semi-auto is fine.
The reason I wanted to go w/ an SA revolver for my son is that he is the exact opposite. He loves to shoot, but is more interested in just getting lead down range than in being accurate. So I wanted to slow him down and make him consider each shot. I figure SA is the best way to accomplish this.
I really hope they enjoy these.

I picked up a Heritage Rough Rider like that from Academy a couple years ago. Very fun gun, especially when you put in the Magnum cylinder ;) I hate to tell you, but I think the price was $169 with both cylinders.

Academy may have been running a sale. MSRP on the single .22lr cylinder is $200 and $249 on the combo.

I started mine younger. They are now 13 & 11.
They each have an AR15 and a Ruger SR22. The 13yr old has a 30.06 with a 80 point muzzle break (brings recoil down close to a .243) and the 11yr old has a .243.
The last time we went out shooting they both shot my wife's Glock 23. The 13yr old now wants his own. That will have to be put on the back burner as he just started flight lessons. I may need a second job.

Oh this isn't a "start" for them. They've been shooting for about 5 years now.
