Mr. Zumbo sent an open letter to the United States Senate responding to Levin's action, then provided a copy of that letter to The Outdoor Wire. They've reprinted the letter in its entirety.

Thanks for posting.

I too have liked the way he accepted responsibility for his actions. He can do more to stop the fall out than 10K other gun owners.
I agree it was good. Really like his last line.

In promoting this ban, the Hon. Carl Levin does not speak for me, or anybody I know.

And a whole passel of us that he dont know. ;-)

After reading that letter I belive Mr.Zumbo has repented and should be
reinstated to his old job.

I call it a good first step.

He has lots more to do to mitigate the damage he caused.

Yes he does. But he is mitigating at full throttle it looks like to me.

Agreed. He also seems sincere.

Yes it is a good first start and you have admit he was man enough to
stand up and aplogize and admit he was wrong after getting a little
education on the firearm he knocked .
also to get educated by Ted Nugent.

Yep, that's a good first step.

He was confining himself to Levin's remarks in this letter, but I'd like to see him take a similar opportunity to make it clear that the 2nd Amendment has nothing to do with hunting.

Totally onboard with this assessment...

Someday, I look forward to forgiving the damage done...

But I'll never forget...

Zumbo was irresponsible and even outright stupid when he posted in his blog in February. There are those who cry out because of the harm he has done to our RKBA cause. If we can look beyond our initial anger we can understan how he has become the most owerful ally we have in the battle against HB1022. He has done more to attract the attention to oppose the new anti assault weapons bill than the NRA.

Some have expressed an opinion about how much damage Zumbo had done to our cause. Those who use Zumbo's blog posting to further the cause of the antis expose themselves to be the liars and frauds that they really are. This is what happened to Levin. When he read his statement into the Congressional Record, it wasn't destined to be noticed and the only folks giving it any credence at all are those who are so entrenched into the anti dogma that they are beyond reasoning.

We shouldn't be concerned we those who are pro RBKA, nor those who are religeous antis. It is the moderates in the legislature we need to sway. As the antis use Zumbo's words to make themselves feel giddy and giggly.

The moderates now understand how hypocritical folks like Levin are, they also understand just how fast and influential us gunowners can be. They saw first hand that us gun owners aren't just a powerful lobbying organization (The NRA) but real people who can react swiftly and with controlled focused anger. We are a force to be reckoned with and politically when motivated we can be much more dangerous than the Brady bunch.

Zumbo trangressed, he has atoned, his testimony is now pretty powerful. reminds me of this guy holding some coats on the side of the road. I can forgive him.

Although my hunting these days is limited to things like shooting Pelicans witha Nikon I won't get upset if Zumbo's writtings find its way into ono of my favorite mags. He was a good writer, and I would bet he still is.

Since Levin mis-represented or mis-quoted Zumbo in a congrssional hearing, isn't that considered perjory? Why shouldn't he be brought up on charges? The left has sure brought charges against others for a lot less.(firing of attorneys)
