Does anyone know if Starlite Theater restaurant in Terlingua is 51% or 30.06 posted. I don't drink but I planned to eat there in a couple of weeks.

The Starlight Theater in Terlingua is not a 51% location per the TABC database. Don't know about the 30.06, but has not been reported as posted to http://www.texas3006.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

The Starlight Theatre has a 51% sign posted to the right of the entrance, back in the corner. I didn't see it until I was seated all the way across the dining area about three weeks ago.

Actual 51% (red 51 in 5 inch letters in the middle) or the 'Licensed and Unlicensed possesion of a handgun' blue sign? If it si an actual 51% sign, then it is wrong.

As I said, they have a 51% sign posted. The large red letters are what caught my attention all the way across the room. I'm not saying it's legal, just that it is there. I had to excuse myself from lunch to go outside and disarm. Cell service is very spotty there so I wasn't able to check the validity of the sign while on the premises. The fact that you can't even see it while standing at the front door is another issue.

I can believe it's 51% it's pretty much a bar.

It's not. TABC database says it is a non-51% locaiton.

Yep http://www.tabc.state.tx.us/PublicInquiry/Status.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

One of our members made a request of the TABC a couple of years ago to add the GUN SIGN field in their search, which they graciously did. It will show you iflocationton is or isn't a 51% location. RED = >51% and no carry, BLUE = <51% and carry OK. However, if a place actually has a red 51% sign posted, even though they are not 51%, then if caught carrying you may have to explain to a LEO that the sign is not correct and you can legally carry there. Best thing IMO is to not carry there, call TABC and tell them the business has the wrong sign posted and you would like them to contact the business and have it corrected. They will do that.

That should be quick and easy to confirm, just looking at the actual license they have posted.

If you can get back to it. I have seen it posted behind the bar where it is hard to get to.

I live here in Terlingua. The Starlight has an "Unlicensed Possession" sign outside the front door. They also have a Red, 51% sign on the door to the right of the entrance. I have looked at their license behind the bar, it says Blue just like the TABC website says. When one tries to talk to the manager about the issue, he gets all huffy and says bad words and refuses to listen to anyone about the law. I stopped patronizing the Starlight for this reason.

This is why somone in the know on where the signs are located should contact TABC about the improper signage. TABC will contact the owner/manager and have the 51% sign taken down. If they refuse they will be fined.
