In Brunswick , Georgia, around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, a boy described as 10 to 15 years old allegedly shot and killed a 13-month-old boy in a stroller. The mother, who was pushing the stroller, tried to protect the baby. The shooter shoved her aside and shot the baby in the head. The mother was also shot in the leg. The shooter and an accomplice fled and have not been apprehended.

The teen suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-8-inches tall with a slender build. The suspect has curly hair ...

The pre-teen suspect is a black male possibly between the ages of 10 to 12-years-old,...

Brunswick is located on the Atlantic coast in southeastern Georgia.

Apparently this was an attempted robbery. The mother has been able to talk to police.

"[The suspect] said, 'I'm gonna kill you if you don't give me your money,' and I said, 'I swear, I don't have any,'" Sherry West told CNN affiliate WAWS. "I put my arms over my baby and he shoves me and he shot my baby right in the head."

Their parents must be proud. Nut. Tree.

Here is an example (yet another) where I disagree with the Supreme Court. I'd have no problems with a public hanging in the town square for these two feral 'yutes.

I'm inclined to think "gang initiations" are an urban legend, but I'm not going to argue about it.

From what I've read, actual gang initiations mostly involve the initiates taking a beating and getting tattoos. I wouldn't know from actual experience.

There have always been psychopathic young men. See Leopold and Loeb.

I don't think it was a gang "initiation", but I'd guess it was gang-related. Some punk kids trying to be like their older brothers. There isn't a gun-problem in this country, but there is a gang problem, which is part of a broken excuse for a culture.

Oh they're real alright. When I was a teenager I had an older friend who escaped the gangs. He told horror stories about what they did for initiations. Being gang raped (for females), murders, beatings, tats, etc. Sadly, he was gunned down by his former gang about 5 years after he left them. It was sad too. He had really turned his life around and was on the right track.

I'm sorry to hear that about your friend. A rare thing, I'm sure. But of course the gang couldn't allow him to get away...what if others wanted out? Might ruin their hold over others.

I think that might be going a tad bit overboard. A long drop with a sudden stop in his home neighborhood (maybe even televised) should drive the message home.
