When one of the three BG's said "just shoot him anyway". The good guy drew his weapon and killed the man pointing a gun at him.

I guess when someone has the drop on you. You may not have the opportunity to draw. But sometimes when someone says that, you don't need to delay any longer.

Caballero fired six more shots into the back of the truck as it left the scene.

Probably not the best idea. I hope he doesn't get into any or too much trouble for that. Also, no mention of a CHL. Hope he has one.

And on a side note, they spelled the victim's name two different ways in the same article and even the same paragraph. If they can't get that right how are we supposed to believe anything else in an article?

It's called "a moment of clarity." The reason one would hesitate to draw on a drawn gun is that one would stand a real good chance of being immediately shot while there might still be hope of surviving through compliance. However, if the BG has just declared he's going to shoot anyway, there's nothing to lose and everything to gain.

The video that accompanies this story presents a narrative quite different from the text.

Altho it covers the robbery and "shoot him" line (and says the shooter had a "concealed weapons permit"), it also presents a woman on camera who claims she saw the event.

She claims the shooter was riding in the bed of the pick up truck, had an argument with the other occupants, to the effect that he wanted them to take him along and they did not want to take him, and asserts "he was not defending himself."

hmmmm.

At one point in the video a man is interviewed who says, "Why would you rob a guy with a gun? For a pair of shoes?"

It's called concealed for a reason, dummy.

You're right. The woman interviewed tells a completely different story. So the police have some investigating to do.

Friend shoots and kills one of three armed robbers, who after robbing victim in his driveway wanted him to go inside where friend was.

Not sure why, story makes it like there is a chance he would be indited for anything.

Isn't it SOP to present all homicides to the Grand Jury? If the facts are as the story presents them, and who ever knows whether that is the case, the GJ should not have any trouble no-billing the shooter. A no bill means no indictment will be made.

Wow, the clerk sure made sure he had done everything possible to avoid shooting the masked man with a gun who entered his store.

Police repeated it on air, just like it is written here. Always good to have the police supporting you like that. Then the TV cut to a woman witness (or just happened to be there) that they interviewed. She didn't seem overly concerned about the fate of the criminal or the seriousness of what had just happened. Just really excited to be on TV. "there was this Bang Bang Bang and then there was blood everywhere"

That AT&T store robbery would be a no win situation. Three bandits with rifles in a small store providing almost no cover or concealment. No matter what you do, your odds stink.

Homeowner (former federal law enforcement officer) is confronted by man with a gun after returning home in his driveway. Bad choice of victim. BG shoots misses. Homeowner wounds BG. Who later seeks treatment at hospital.
