Just curious what techniques people prefer/practice?
I tend to practice COM, Mozambique, and 2+2; with 2+2 preferred.
I've been hearing a lot about the zipper and have got try it at the range sometime.

you don't have an option for 'close your eyes and yank the trigger'?
what is the 'zipper' technique?
I don't think that I have a technique. Honestly, if in that situation I imagine I would continue pulling the trigger until they were on the ground. At the range I practice with 2 COM hits with occasional taps to the head.

For now it is COM. As my skills improve ( I'm still a shooting toddler :D ) other methods will be explored. At my current skill level putting everything COM makes me happy.
What are "zipper" and "golden Triangle"?
I am also not familiar with 2+2, but I would guess that it is two in COM then two in head.

DUH! Read the ENTIRE post. You have it described in the poll.

Some descriptions:
"- Zipper Drill.
Start point shooting--rapid fire--while focusing on the navel. With each "burst of two" focus your eyes a bit higher and higher on the opponents body, finishing on the head.
The shots will go where you look, almost as if by magic. The pistol. BTW, should sound like a machine gun.
- Head Shots [2+2]
Fire two shots into the chest. Without pausing, focus on the head and fire two more. When the 4 shots sound like one, and the head shots are dead center, you are doing it right.
Remember not to think or pause, just shoot. "

Front sight focus on COM and rock and roll to slide lock.

Thanks. Lot of information there.

COM all the way. I would not take a head shot unless I was forced to simply because the odds of missing are so high. The last thing I want is for a bullet from my gun to hit an innocent bystander.

While I don't know what I would do under what stressful circumstances, what I practice is: 2 - COM, followed by a very rapid assessment, and 1 to the head if necessary. Kind of a modified Mozambique.

well....
you can practice what you want.
the most important thing is, your gun follows the threats hands. if you are focused on center mass and his hands are low you cant see them, and thats not good... because, what do we attack people with?... our hands, or something in them.
but if i were to pic from the list, i would have to go with the "zipper". here is why...
i follow the hands right? well, i f a guy has a knife and his arms are strait down by his side i will focus on his hips right? yes, because i can see the threat in his hands. if he is a threat you shoot to stop right? and what do you need to walk? your legs/hips. so without your legs or hips working you cant move to well. then just continue up because "you shoot to stop [sarcasm] and if he dies in the process then so be it, he stoped[/sarcasm]" right?
as Gabe Suarez sais... "Shoot 'em to the ground"

COM
Old habits are hard to break!!
Lately I have tried to train myself to be much more aware of what my target is doing. i.e. falling down, running or just grinning at me. Concentrating on the front sight will prevent that.
With all the bad guys getting wiser, some have taken up using armor etc. so I am starting to add one to the head to my practice.
I still have to think about it though. Hesitation can get you hurt.

The poll didn't mention "shoot until the entrance wound, exit wound, and hole in the ground all line up".

Golden Triangle to slidelock or until the assailant is down.
In regards to watching the hands all the time, in a high stress situation "Tunnel Vision" takes over and we only see a small part of the picture the chances of a wild shot are greater if you are following the hands.
