Looks like CISPA is dead for this year.

IANAL. Maybe that explains (or excuses) my confusion on this issue. Of course we need to share information in the interest of security. That topic is in the news again in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing and the questions about whether or not the FBI dropped the ball.
But I also understand that under the plan as proposed private companies would be able, or even compelled, to provide stored emails and text to the government from private accounts.
This is not dead as members of both parties and the House and the Senate are proposing their own versions. I'd like to hear what some of you folks, smarter than me, think about it.

That's for personal conversations(on the phone or in person), I save emails for a minimum of 2 years.
