high belt holster

My dad is interested in obtaining a high-riding holster to harness his 1911. He insists that it be worn up high, unlike the typical OWB holster.
I know Longtooth wears a galco in this fashion for his 1911, and I believe he's quite happy with it.
How many of you also carry in this fashion? What brand/type do you carry? I'm getting different ideas to tell Dad about. He plans to look around at the next gun show he attends.

The Sparks 60TK is a high-ride belt holster.

I'm hooked on the Kramer highride belt scabbard. I can carry a 4" N frame OWB under a t-shirt and nobody sees a thing.

The term "high ride" gets kicked around a lot and generally means whatever the holster maker wants it to mean. Some ride higher or lower than others. Another consideration is the size of the gun because the holster will become more unstable as the gun is positioned higher above the belt. Generally, a small light gun can be carried higher.
That said and out of the way, I can tell you that the Galco Combat Master, FLETCH and Concealable are all excellent 1911 holsters and will carry the gun, as I call it, high and tight.
I regularly carry an STI Trojan 5 and a Springfield Ultra Compact with the Combat Master or the Concealable and find they do a wonderful job of comfortable concealed carry. The FLETCH is not my favorite as I don't fancy thumbstraps.
And, I do carry full time. I strap on in the morning and take off late at night; so comfort and concealment are important.

Ok, the term "high ride" to me, means that the trigger is higher than the wearers belt. That pretty much covers it imho.

I carry a officer size Kimber1911 OWB in a holster from rafter s and conceal under a wide range of shirt styles including t-shirts

Look at the Don Hume and High Noon websites both have a good selection of styles at reasionable prices.

VP check out the pics of my holster in the pics of your daily carry .The Rafters holster sits higher than my galco and pulled the gun in tight.
