Hello, I am looking for a bolt carrier group to buy. I have been looking for Spikes Tactical since I already have one and I am trying to get another for roughly the same price around $130. I am just unsure of another good brand.

I don't know the cost off hand but if I need another bolt or bolt carrier I'm going to go with Colt or Bravo Company.

BCM

Failzero is good but will be out of that price point (so will most BCMs these days)

BCM. Honestly, though, you probably aren't going to touch any BCG for less than $160-$180 these days.

I personally like Daniel Defense, but they have been on back order for about seven months now.

Another forum member sent this to me a few days ago and they were in stock for $169.99, but I just now noticed they are sold out.

I thought DD wasn't selling component BCGs anymore because of their internal demand.

You are probably right. That may be why it all says "currently available." I am on an email list to be notified when they are ready for purchase.

I did however get a Daniel Defense Bolt purchased in December and it finally arrived.

Thinking back it may be barrels I was thinking of but I can't keep track.

Actually, I picked up one for $135 this week from Windham Weaponry. Took a couple of weeks to get it though.
Nice, properly staked, BCG.

Just me, but I wouldn't pay for anything that was not in stock. I thought the lower was hard to come by, but I have had trouble trying to find an upper. Thanks to another Forum member I bought one of the last ones.

I do know that some uppers come with the BCG and some do not. Do you have an upper?

I have never built an AR, started to but ended up finding a complete upper with BCG I liked. Why is the bolt manufacturer so important? I mean, any mil spec bolt will feed and eject the cartridge as it is supposed to right? Now, I know there are different coatings and materials and small details like the gas key staking but for a casual shooter will I ever notice? Are we more talking about the longevity of said bolt?

My current AR is a stock smith except for the trigger and my new build is a complete Adams arms upper. The most strenuous activity I have done thus far has been an AR class where I went through 6-700 rounds in about 3 hours. That will be the worst I ever do. Any need to worry about the manufacturer? I will be building another soon, and really just planned on grabbing the palmetto one linked above. Should I wait for a spikes or other?

I was wanting spikes because I already own one, and they are a good price for it. True about not buying when it is out of stock..Yes, I already have my upper and lower receiver.. Vltor Mur upper, and aero precision lower. I am trying to finish this AR before the 30th for a hunting trip..The only thing keeping me from finishing in time is the BCG.
