New Magazines

One of the changes I will be making in my life, now that we are moving to Texas from California, is I get to buy new magazines, real ones, not the 10 rounders I have been compelled to use.
My P7M8 comes with 8 round magazines anyway, so nothing to be done there, but the Sig 226 Navy will be needing some full sized magazines. Which ones do I buy and where?
I have some 10 round EBR magazines and can look forward to tracking down some 30 rounders. I also have some 10 round magazines for the AR-22, from Black Dog Machine for the Spike's .22 upper. I wonder if those can be made into full capacity mags or not?
I'm excited. The "Sold" sign went up today, all the inspections, appraisals, reviews are in and approved, and the buyers lifted their contingencies. It looks like I'm moving whether I want to or not!

Glad you are coming. Are you still planning to move to the Hill Country?

Welcome back to Texas.
Hope you have good luck finding any magazines at a fair price....there seems to be a shortage of those too.

Some of the LGSs in the hill country may have a few on hand. But more than likely you'll have to do some online shopping once you're settled. The deals & availability of magazines seems to be easing up faster than the ammo situation.

I have bought several from Greg at

He has Sig Sauer brand magazines, but he also carries the Mec-Gar. I am sure you know that Mec-Gar magazines hold 20 rounds rather than Sigs 18.
If they are not in stock you can be notified when they come in and he get shipments weekly.
Welcome to home in Texas!

That's the plan, most likely in Bulverde/Spring Branch/Canyon Lake etc.
We'll be back next week looking at a couple of dozen properties we have identified as meeting our needs, and getting one bought. The move is set for mid-June. I just hope the new neighbors don't panic when they see an older couple from California moving in and figure their property values, and morals, are goners!

That's a beautiful area. My sisters live just outside Bulverde. You shouldn't have much of a problem finding AR mags. The Academy's in my area (Houston) have kept them in stock for the last 2 months.

If you invite the neighbors over for a howdy-good-ta-meet-ya barbecue when you get settled, it should put their minds at ease.

I saw your title and got excited! I thought you would be buying this month's issue of "Field & Stream."
Welcome home!

Isn't that neighborly!
As soon as I know what it is, I'll take you up on that.
It'll be good to have a real M-4gery, with no stupid bullet button and real magazines!
