I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to chat with Beverly Haynes at the Colt pavilion during the NRA AM exhibition. During the conversation I mentioned that the grip stocks of my grandfather's orm 1991A1 Compact had cracked while in storage. He bought it the same day I bought mine, and passed away before he had the chance to take it to the range. The pistol sat in it's original packaging in a safe in Sedona from 1992 until June of last year.
The family had planned to present the pistol to my grandson for his 12th birthday, but put those plans on hold while I found replacement grip stocks.
While the composite stocks were still available new for the Government and Commander size pistols I searched in vain to locate a set for the Compact model.

Enter Beverly Haynes, she collected info on the pistol and my contact information and said she would check around to see if she could turn up any information for me. You could have knocked me over with a feather when opening my mail this morning I discovered a brand new set of oem composite grip stocks for the 1991 Compact!
As she explained in an email to me, she had called in a favor from a contact at the factory and secured them for me from where ever they had been sitting for a decade and a half! My grandson's 13th birthday on June 7 will be all the more special when he adds the 1991 to his collection!
Great people make a company great. Beverly Haynes is one of the people that make Colt a great company!

I've sent enough virtual paper to cover every wall in the E-Suite at CMC. I've also taken the time to write on dead tree as well, and had to go to the post office to get stamps, I had no idea what current 1st class postage was! "rlol"
