Inteliscope: Use Your iPhone As A RifleScope

The Inteliscope is a picatinny mount for the iPhone which unlike, other phone picatinny mounts which we have blogged about before that mount a smartphone for use as a ballistic heads up display, allows the phone to be used as a digital scope.

Very cool.

Very cool idea, however I can't help but think the recoil would destroy the phone.

lol I'm sure somewhere in that bible sized document of user agreement that apple puts out with its products are the words, "do not use as a scope"

Awhile back there was a guy here in Texas who was "Tweeting" while his home was being invaded. He was in the bedroom, pistol in one hand, phone in the other I guess.

Now he can improve on that: he can upload his home-invasion response video in real time...

Good link....got a lead on two things I've been unable to find....one is the VCOG 6x zoom BDC sight coming out in August.

Imagine getting a call or a reminder as you're about to pull the trigger.

I wonfer if it has an additional lens like some of the phone addons...

I didn't think about that! That's actually a really good feature/selling point if the app can record while being used as a sight. You'd have instant proof of what happened.

I tried mounting my iPod on my AR and I only see this:

This has to be up there with some of the most useless ideas yet..... right in line with CHL badges

I wouldn't rely on an iPhone and I wouldn't want something like this as a primary sight but I see 2 interesting benefits to this type of technology, the ability to record and the ability to shoot from cover.

what I would like to see is a "fiber cable adapter" that links a scope to the my Galaxy "N" and/or my Note "N". add a mount to the rifle system and then some laser ranging thingy and some software sauce and you can have a ala-cheapo tracking-point system. If you can add an infra-red filter, that is even better.
