Awareness test!!! Grade F

Kind of Ironic that John R. Fuller had his post on open carry at home just as I was preparing to share this one here. My great desire is to help educate the New to CHL & I know there is a wide range of folks with different degrees of awareness. John's is on one end & mine was on the other.

Got home from mowing an elderly widow woman's yard & as usual shucked my cover as soon as I got out of the truck. It was really dirty so it went in the dirty work clothes basket in the garage. While unloading a pickup truck drove slowly up the street, very evident that he was looking for something. I watched as I unloaded. When He got to my drive he stopped. No cover available so i thought, huuum, this will be a good test of awareness. I am wearing a white t-shirt & the Simply Rugged holster I am breaking in. Color is Oxblood against the white t-shirt & bluejeans. The rig is pictured below bullets in the loops just as I was wearing it.

I confess I did not turn strong side to him & raise my arm but made no attemp to full blade away from him. He greeted as he approached & asked if I was the owner. Stopped at social distance. Yes sir.
Well, I am, & introed himself. I paint houses & would like to paint yours. (yes it needs it).
The gun butt was not apparent since I was wearing at about 3:30. The holster & bullet contrast were very evident.
We talked for a minute or two & I thanked him but no thanks. He was more intent on the house than who was around him & what they had on them.
It really does not matter if what is on someones mind is a job or going to the car in a parking lot or pushing a buggy down the isles of a store. Intent on my little world & dont have a clue what is going on around me gets an F on the awareness test.

LESSON:
You that are so worried about printing realize that no one is really paying attention to you. Put it on, cover it up, & leave it alone. No one will know you are armed.

It's a shame that some folks are so focused on a specific task that they fail to notice things like a big gun in the open.

Some say, stop and smell the roses. I say, stop and admire the weaponry.

It seems like guests in my house are an exception. I have come back to my roommate and I's place and pulled my top shirt off, leaving a big black uspc .40 wide open, OWB, and I have gotten some frozen stares from friends of ours. Then my roommate says "oh ya, nick does that." and they laugh.

It's only around our good friends that know I have a CHL.

Here you go.
For all who worry about printing or "can I hide it":
If this rig will conceal then anything will.
Key is a GOOD gun belt, a quality holster, & leave it alone.

That does look like a comfortable holster.
Do you have a website?

Yes Maam.
simplyrugged.com
It is 2 layers of 8oz leather so it is not thin.
A good hunting & field holster or winter cold weather carry.
I dont know that it will make a good summer carry w/ only a light shirt.

OH NO!

I see a photo-"chop" coming!

It would be a simple matter for someone to place LT's head (from those Christmas time photos) on Barney's shoulders. We do have people here with those kind of talents. I'm just saying....................... ;-)

Not trying to stir anything up, or give anyone ideas (because we all know I wouldn't do that).

Good looking rig (Gun & Holster) LT. You done good!
