hello everyone, I want to clean my friend's model 870-(I think) and he doesn't know how to clean it and I don't know how to with all the rust on it. It apparently was shot and sat in the truck of a car for a long time. Its dirty and the rust on it looks like surface rust. I don't see any pitting but the rust is everywhere, even the trigger assembly. Its gonna be a long clean. My question is:

1) what cleaners do y'all recommend to remove rust within the trigger assembly?
2) what cleaners do y'all recommend to remove rust between threads that are in the tube cap?
3) how do y'all think I should attack it, meaning steps or instruments to clean it?
Thank you everyone for looking and or replying!

P.s. I wanted to add photos but for some reason its saying the files are too big, so that is why there are none.

Use Blue Armadillo Blue Wonder Gun Cleaner.

They recommend steel wool, but if you can find the ultrafine Scotchbrite pads, they work better. I believe the Ultrafine are gray colored. The red and green pads are too course.

I had a rifle that was like that, but with some mild pitting. I had it media blasted and duracoated. Looks great and no more rust issues.
