Carney himself is a former CNN correspondent and Time Magazine Washington Bureau Deputy Chief. White House Counsel Michael Gottlieb is NPR’s White House Correspondent Ari Shapiro's husband. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall (sic), National Security advisor to President Obama, is ABC News President Ben Sherwood's sister. Benjamin Rhodes, Foreign Policy Adviser to Obama, is CBS News President David Rhodes's brother. Tom Nides, Hillary Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State until early this year is CNN’s deputy Washington bureau chief Virginia Moseley's husband.
