For the Ladies...Carry Ideas?

Plastic is in the mail

but I am still not sure how I want to carry. I should have figured this out by now and gotten comfortable with it. I will carry in a purse sometimes, I think, but would also want to be able to find a holster I am comfortable wearing. I have a little extra around the midsection, so I am not sure how comfortable I would be wearing something on my side. I have considered a SOB holster but have read mixed reviews on those.
Ladies, please share with me how you carry and if you would suggest any particular product. Men, your input about how the women in your life carry is welcome, also.
Thanks!

Wife does the purse thing, and carries a pretty good sized 9mm in it. Its a made for CHL purse, which is highly recommended. There are arguments against purse carry, but if its that or nothing, go with that.

I have been looking at the CHL purses online, hoping to actually see one at a gun show soon. My carry will most likely be my SR9c, but I also have an LCR .38 special.

There are a variety of purses from small to large. Her first purse was smaller and had a Bersa .380. This purse has a 15 shot Beretta Storm and can actually fit a 92 FS in it.
The NRA may even have a link to some.

I've looked into these and considered them for the Mrs if she decides to get her license, she likes the concept.

This video and a few like it were helpful to my wife:
The lady in the video demonstrates a plethora of styles: dresses, skirts, jeans, shorts, with and without extra cover garments. You can watch her videos and see which styles of dress you wear and see what might work in your case. Her reviews of holsters are very thorough.

My wife bought this holster after watching this video:

*Edit to add: this video is very appropriate, decent, and modest. I didn't realize that profile bathing suit image would display as the splash screen for the video, but she is showing how to carry in a bathing suit at the beach. She also shows how to dress for exercise, jogging, etc. If you watch the video, I think you will agree that it abides by forum rules.

Congrats on getting your CHL! I can't speak for all, but my personal experience with the Flashbang was not a good one. I ordered one for my Colt Mustang 380. It was not at all comfortable, required constant "fixing" and the gun wouldn't stay put. So.....My EDC for the past year has been a 9mm Walther PPS in a custom IWB/OWB holster and belt rig made by Eric Hopp. I carried OWB at 3:00 very comfortably all winter (I'm not a tiny girl

) and IWB/OWB in the summer depending on the top I'm wearing. I didn't think I'd like the OWB, but having a well made GUN belt and holster makes all the difference. It's VERY comfortable. On the rare occasion that I actually put on a dress I bought the "Marilyn" (same company that makes the Flashbang) for my Colt. It fits under your arm inside your bra. Still not ideal, but more comfortable than the Flashbang and better concealed while still being easy to get to. Good luck with your search! Hopefully you won't end up with a whole drawer full of holsters before you find the right one. I lucked out. The Hopp rig was only my 2nd try!

And don't totally discount carrying at your waist...
I have more around the middle than I want to and, believe it or not, that helps you conceal...lol...the gun and holster settle into your waistline and displace what would normally be there.
I'm not saying you should decide this way, just don't discount it. It DOES require the belt to be drawn more snug than you may be used to wearing it though...

I'm waiting on a Crossbreed minituck, which I plan to wear somewhere on a belt depending on exactly where it seems to settle in best. My first thought is appendix carry, but I'm not really set on anything yet. I just don't trust myself not to set down a purse and forget about it, although I've thought I'd like to get a carry purse so that I always have a back-up option in case of wardrobe malfunction or what have you.

Congrats on getting the CHL.
My wife and daughter usually carry OWB at 4:00. On occassion, my wife will purse carry if we are going somewhere she has to wear a dress but other than that, its always on her person.
The issue for a woman purse carrying is if a purse snatcher grabs your purse and runs, he now has your weapon as well. Now, when they are working (they own a dog groom shop) they both wear a fanny pack. In this fanny pack are sme of the tools of the trade as well as their weapons.

I have tried the flashbang, it works sometimes....I have to get it just right...I've heard good things about the Marilyn...haven't tried it yet.
I'd like to get some of those compression shorts with the built in holster, it's suppose to work great for under dresses.
I have an LCP, I carry with kusiak IWB holster, it works perfect with it, I like how low it carries. I carry at about 10-11 (cross draw).
I do carry in my purse when I wear skirts and dresses, I've never walked away from my purse in a store, why would I start doing so when I have a gun in it? If I'm going to a family function or somewhere I would be tempted to drop it and walk around, I take a small cross-body messenger style bag, so it doesn't draw attention to the fact that I'm carrying it around with me.
hmmm, what else can we tell you? the best "styles" of tops, tend to be A line, so they are looser around the waist, but those are often more flattering anyway. Winter it's fun to layer with vests and such, but summer, well, triple digits were hit today sooooo.
I also have an LC9, pink

waiting in the wings, with it's own Kusiak, for me to take to the range.

I wear one of these under cargo shorts...it would prolly work well under a skirt...

I have made some modifications to it but the $30 I spent on it from the NRA store is well worth it in my opinion. I would not consider it a primary carry option, but as a secondary or optional method it is very satisfactory. It can be worn left or right leg, inside our outside the leg. Just find a comfortable spot. In a light skirt, I would think inside the leg would work...in cargo shorts, the cargo pocket masks the gun really well when worn on the outside of the leg.

Be sure to look at the other types of holsters Flashbang sells. They have several options that could work well for your needs.
