45 Auto vs 45 GAP

I went to Academy with my wife to pick up a couple of boxes of 45 Auto. When I got home, I notice one box was 45 GAP. Is 45 GAP safe to use in a 1911?

The boxes were stacked next to each other and the same brand. I hope they let me exchange.fickman wrote:All sales are technically final, but I've managed to return a few boxes before. Trading / selling is always an option, there's just not quite as big of a marketplace for 45 GAP. You should be able to get retail or pretty close to it if you find somebody who wants it.

At first, they wouldn't let my wife return or exchange. My wife called me and I explained to the manager what happened. They let us return it for an exchange. I was hoping they would let my wife get two boxes today but no such luck. I can't complain, the GAP was a box of 50 and we exchanged for a box of 100. I just stopped by the store and picked up another box of 100. Academy has always been fair to me and I'm glad I live close to a large store.jayinsat wrote:Let us know what happens.jl39775 wrote:The boxes were stacked next to each other and the same brand.
