Yes. That's the place. A few blocks east of Hwy 287. Probably should have said Ray's Pharmacy but that looked odd as gun forum topic.

The gun shop is upstairs on the second floor. The Pharmacy had a soda fountain, but it was closed.

Doesn't sound like Rays Hardware west of downtown Dallas? Are they related?

Don't think there's any connection. Ray's Pharmacy/Guns is in Mansfield just off HWY 287. There are other locations but none in Dallas.
Found these links

I was just going to post that link. Have not made it by there yet.
Ray's hardware is a very cool "old school" Dallas shop. No relation most likely, they have been there 60 years.

My wife was in the area, so she went there today to check it out. She said they were rude, dismissive, and didn't want to help her at all.
Too bad, I like the idea of guns and ice cream!

Sorry to hear that.

Ray's is a good pharmacy. I use them quite often and have been to Suzy Q's fountain on occasion, for a meal or just a shake with the kids. Suzy Q's has now been replaced by Napoli's. The gun store has never really stood out as one I would bother going to. I can't quite put my finger on it but I just don't feel welcome there. They mostly deal in Kimbers, although they usually have less than 10. They also have several other popular semi-auto's, revolvers, AR's, etc...I would say approx 50 total guns in the store, maybe less. They also have some survival gear and gun accessories. Anyone wanting ammo will find multiple boxes of many popular calibers, but it's a little pricey (100 count .45 WWB $64.00).

Sounds more like Ray's Hobby Shop. Could just be a group of snobs. There was a very famous gun store in Houston years ago that apparently gave their sales clerks classes in bad attitude. There was another very famous sporting good dealer just a few blocks north that couldn't have been nicer to deal with.
I may venture into Ray's on my next visit to my daughter in Mansfield.

My daughter who lives in Mansfield is visiting us and she randomly mentioned she'd visited Ray's after a dentist visit with her two 5 YO twin and 3 YO daughters. The dentist is across the street so she went to get them a little reward. The clerk told her they had a lot of clearance items up stairs, which turned out to be the gun store. The people were nice to her and the kids and they checked out at the gun counter. She thought the kids were to young for a Kimber so she bought them necklaces.

I've bought a couple guns from Ray's Pharmacy gun shop. They've never been anything but nice to me. I inquired about a S&W Shield 9 one time. Said he didn't have one but would let me know when it came in. I had all but forgotten about it when I got an email a couple months later saying it was due in the next day. He sold it to me for the same price he quoted me from my first inquiry even though many were charging way over msrp for this gun. I would not hesitate to buy another gun from Jeff at Ray's.

Good to hear that. They were very nice to my daughter, 5 YO twins and 3 YO daughter. They weren't buying guns, butI know a lot of gun shops wouldn't have been so tolerant of such an invasion
