Some of you may have heard that the Department of Justice is seizing George Zimmerman's gun. There a report that a shop in Florida is offering to replace his gun for free. I think that's cool!!

Betcha he gets a NICS hold, which Holder orders until it can be determined if Z is a racist or not. Z would still have to file a 4473 to take possession of a free gun from an FFL. On the other hand, the gunstore owner could have just kept his mouth shut and privately given Z a gun out of his own personal collection. But if DOJ moves to block the gunstore transfer, then the store owner can't privately gift a gun to someone he knows won't pass NICS without some legal risk to himself.....and to his FFL status.
That's the problem with trying to capitalize on someone else's publicity. I'm not saying I would approve of Holder's blocking a transfer; I'm just saying I think that's what will happen, because Holder is that kind of vindictive cretin.

I bet his license was suspended pending the cases but excellent point nonetheless.

DOJ should not have been expediting getting guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels but you saw how that happened. Our Attorney General, like our President, is not bound by the laws and conventions of mortal man.

Like the rest of the administration, Holder is pandering to minorities and libs. Remember he's our guy that refused to prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation a few years ago. He doesn't represent the country, he represents part of it.

Unfortunately he is a part of the country that is running everybody else.

"
SHOULD" and "WHAT IS LIKELY" are two different things. I agree with you that NICS
should clear GZ. I believe that Holder will intervene to prevent that.

If Florida uses NICS (I believe they do), and if Florida law does not give a "call-in exception" for license holders (I don't know one way or the other), then
yeah, it would
have to be called in because it's an FFL executing a transfer—regardless of whether or not he's charging a price for the gun.
At least, I don't see any other way of an FFL transferring a firearm to a new owner without a 4473 and a NICS check (if FL uses NICS) or some other kind of background check.

And I'll bet that Angela Corey being the vindictive troll that she is, she'll see to it that he does not get it back.

but I would have worded the last sentence a bit differently.

Even if some didn't like what the previous occupant of the White House did at times, there always seemed to be an underlying rational / moral reason for doing so. So much of what is going on now is wrong on so many levels. The captain of the ship threw the moral compass overboard and now everything is relative....no absolutes...
