Duh. I'd be happy with "hollow points are designed to rapidly incapacitate someone who clearly needs to stop what he's doing for the safety of others.", but I'd accept "kill" as the uneducated simplification.

Who is looking to ban hollowpoints?

I went to Click2Houston and searched and can find no article containing anything like this.

Please provide link.

I was listening to the 10pm newscast. That was when I heard the talk on hollow points. I followed the reports to click2Houston.com to participate their survey "Do you think any pictures, video and manifesto of Cho Seung-Hui should be televised and posted online? "

Since the generally pro-gun sentiment shown on various news websites surveys, I'd guess the antis would probably pick on hollow points to win some gains ...

Sounds like the local networks are doing their jobs...

Per instructions from on high...

Never mind that we can see right through their evil plan!

And they would've gotten away with it too! If it wasn't for us nosey kids!

Here we go again....

The 1st show of the season of The Sopranos was about Tony Soprano having evil hollow points in his gun. At the time I thought that was silly. I guess this will be the next war cry of the anti's. Ban hollow points so if you have to shoot someone in self defense, the full metal jacket bullet will go through the bad guy and kill a innocent bystander. Makes about as much sense as anything else they come up with.
Actually, after thinking about it, I guess the anti's would love some innocent person to be killed so they would have something else to cry about!

If you ban hollowpoint then only criminals, and, um, every law enforcement agency in the US, will have hollowpoints.

Yes... and once hollow points are banned, they'll then try to ban FMJ's as "they are designed to kill even more than hollow points!!" (going through one and into another)

The logic of banning hollow points is so flawed.

I saw this 'newscast' One of the things they said was that hollow points were designed to kill rather the stop someone and thus were not what an armed homeowner would be likely to use for home defense. Much better that we have the added penetration of FMJ so walls can be penetrated and innocent people hurt.

The people that these so called news reports, about banning guns or hollow points, are aimed at, are the left wing brain washed people that don't know a hollow point from a hollow head. They are easy targets for this kind of silly logic. When they are not watching reruns of Bevis & Butthead they are getting their news from The Daily Show or Leno or Letterman.

The Sopranos is set in New Jersey and HollowPoints are Illegal in New Jersey as I recall but I may be having a Senior Blonde moment.
