At some point, the tenant was able to get up and grab a gun. He then shot and killed the suspect that had been holding him down, police said
Not going to armchair quarterback why he wasn't armed by the time they kicked in the door, Just glad it worked out for the good guy and I hope they catch the other two and charge them for their friends death.

There are some unusual laws that make so much sense.... this is one of them.
There's a law in NC that if your spouse is cheating on you you can sue their lover for "alienation of affection". Another great, but odd, law.

Interesting, but it seems he did all the shooting as they were leaving. Sure legal in TX but where was the threat if they were in fact leaving? As the article stated I am curious why his home was targeted - random or not is my question?
As the suspects were leaving, Brown was able to get up and grab a gun, police said. He then shot and killed the suspect who had been holding him down, police said.
Brown also opened fire on the other two suspects, but they fled in a silver Dodge Charger.

I read on one FB page that these apts are known to have trouble, so even if his apt wasn't chosen, the complex was.

yeah that's interesting that he's not going to get charged with anything even after he was shooting as they were leaving. I can't blame the guy but i don't understand how he wasn't ready while they were kicking the door in. they would have to kick down two doors to get to me and the mrs and after the first one was down they'd have a quite a few surprises once they kicked in the second

Good for the dead criminal. He won't be terrorizing any other Citizens. Too bad he couldn't nail the scumbags leaving in the truck...

Being in SA, he might have been a liberal, but at some point during that event had an epiphany and became conservative.
