printing due to weight loss

Ok guys, here is my issue. I wanted to see if any of you have experienced it.
My wife and I have been trying to drop a few pounds for the past month or so, and I have lost about 15 over that time period.
Me edc is a full size m&p40 in a hybrid leather/kydex iwb holster (think crossbreed) at about the 3:30 position. Because my clothes are hanging differently, I can no longer conceal this firearm in this location. It looks like I have a huge bulge on my hip.
Has anyone experienced this and if so what was your solution? Is it time for a more compact edc option?
Thanks a bunch!

I'm with you here, man. Anything north of 4 o'clock and I feel like I have a conjoined twin on my hip. I don't want to go small of back, and appendix carry is not confortable sitting down. I'll be watching this post to hear what other suggust.

I wish I had that problem of losing weight. I NEED to start losing weight so I can actually fit the holster in there!

I lost 150lbs in just under a year. I carried a full size 1911 in a Kholster (IWB) at the 3:30 position. But after 150lbs, it was no longer comfortable or perfectly concealed. So I tried a few different holsters and positions. I wound up settling on a Galco SOB which sits at about 5:30 and an El Paso Saddelry High Slide which sits at about 2:30. Both are extremely comfortable with a full-size or ultra carry 1911.
BTW, just to head off the typical SOB holster nonsense, some people fear that if they fall and land on their back they'll be injured. If you have back problems, this might be an issue. But if not, you'll be fine. I've fallen twice, landed on my gun, and didn't have any aches and pains other than those normally experienced with a fall.

i lost about 40 lbs total this year and half right before I got my plastic. I was trying on holsters and moving them around and getting used to them in my house and before the last 20 came off no matter what I did i couldnt minimize the printing or bulge. after those last few lbs came off (i hold all my weight in my torso) i can carry the same guns anywhere from 3-5:30 with only minimal discomfort and printing. really it all depends on where you carry your weight and where it shrinks when you lose it.

I'm a little confused about this. After losing weight, your clothes are looser and printing has become a bigger problem? That seems to be counter intuitive.

Yeah, it's the darndest thing. I think because my weight is coming off from the chest down, my shirts are not "hanging" over my hips. They are resting on the hips causing the bulge.
I have an officer size 1911 that iI don't carry because the only real holster I have for it is a summer comfort and I REALLY don't like how it rides. I'll give that another shot this weekend and if it fits better maybe I'll get a hybrid holster for it. I like it to ride fairly low..
If all else fails, I guess it's bacon. Or pizza.....or pizza WITH bacon
Thanks folks!

What kind of belt? If you don't have a belt purpose-made for carrying a gun, get one.
Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it too much. You're probably the only one who notices.

The problem with this method is what do the paramedics do with your CCW when they come get you after your massive heart attack?

Yeah, it's not the belt. I use an instructors belt with kydex insert.
I thought I was the only one that was noticing, but my wife's exact words were "yeah, that's NOT ok" . Lol and she usually tells me I'm being paranoid about it.

Im thinking maybe a holster the rides higher & position 3 0;clock some where almost under the arm pit.
I cary a full size Glock OWB this way but I have a big belly & weigh 220 LBS. You should be able to conceal the full size M&P some kind of way.
YES-Send PICs.
