Texas Police Search for Gunman After 2 Killed at Apartment Complex
Monday, April 23, 2007
Associated Press
HOUSTON — Two people were killed and several others wounded at a luxury Houston apartment complex on Monday, police said.
Police said two people were fatally shot and several others suffered minor injuries, said police spokesman Victor Senties. Police said the shooting happened at about 1 p.m. in the front office of The Post Oak at Woodway, a luxury apartment building in the city's Galleria shopping district.
A nearby day-care center was in lockdown while police searched for the gunman.

Fox news said he had been evicted, and went to the office shooting.
Is it me, or has this type of shooting been stepped up the past 3 or so weeks. I mean I'm used to hearing about thugs and felons with guns, doing robberies and gang stuff, but recently it seems offices, malls, and the VT shootings have been more than usual.

Definitely becoming more and more common, unfortunately.
BTW, it looks like the gunman killed himself after shooting the place up.

That's the other thing that goes hand-in-hand with these types of mass shootings. Why can't they just off themselves?

Some author (Heinlein, maybe) suggested that stupidity never wants to die alone. I believe the same may be said of the crazies doing this type of thing (and yes, they are crazy, even if it was only temporary)...

The incidents don't necessarily happen in groups, but the reporting of them definitely does.
There are bomb threats and students arrested for writing threatening notes every week. You just don't hear about them until an event like Virginia Tech happens, then every time a student pulls a fire alarm to play hooky, it gets reported in the national media.

I saw a documentary that said these killings like this are about rage, power and revenge. This is why they take other lives first.
It is kind of hard to get a definitive answer on this though as the persons committing these acts are deceased so you can never truly know what they were thinking.

In honor of political correctness, we need to refer to these people as a "regular person with the right to purchase a new gun." So everytime you want to use the C word, please replace it with the line in quotation.

I think I know which thread you may have formed that opinion from.
