Houston sheriff's home burgled, .357 mag. handgun stolen.

From this abbreviated article it would appear that both the sheriff and his wife were away from their home when the theft occurred. It will be interesting to follow the story and learn the location of the handgun, and its security, if any, during their absence. But don't count on learning this.
