Here is an excellent and humorous page on Pepper Spray and facts. It's a great read for those who carry pepper spray. I did not consider that my can only holds up to 7 seconds of spray or the best way to maximize effectiveness.

I'm curious if you carry pepper spray and if anyone has used it to practice with or in a real life situation? What brand do you prefer?

(I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area. It seems to fall under equipment since there is also discussion of knives here.)

I think you forgot something.

Freeze Plus P in a four ounce can carried in a clip on holster.

If you use this stuff, be sure to buy some contamination wipes at the same time.

Just getting it on bare skin, never mind mucous membranes is like being hit with a blow torch! The contamination wipes make all the difference if you get some accidentally on yourself.

Having spread TONS of people, just remember with pepper spray, spray a little vs a lot...it has to evaporate to work.

When I first got my CHL and started carrying a handgun every time I walked out the door I soon followed suit with Fox Labs pepper spray. On most days (just to work and back) I carry one of the keychain units in my front pocket. On other days and longer outings I carry a 2oz fog unit in a belt holster. I got the inert trainer to practice and learned that I need to lock my wrist back to get an effective angle. I've never used the real stuff and have considered testing it but haven't found a willing test partner. I've got some of the wipes that are supposed to quickly alleviate the symptoms but still no takers and I'm not doing a solo swim. As a matter of fact, I think I've lost my nerve by now.

Having spread tons of hay and manure, I know what a back breaking job it can be without the right equipment. What type of equipment did you use to spread TONS of people?
