In League City, around 10:15 P.M. Thursday, a 41-year-old black woman fatally shot a 37-year-old white man with whom she had an unspecified relationship in the past. After the incident she turned herself in at the League City police station.

The man worked at Walmart at I-45 and FM 646. This is across 646 from The Arms Room.

It may be worth noting that the man was married a few months ago.

It's fairly rare for a woman to commit this kind of stalking murder. It would be difficult to see coming, and difficult to defend against, other than laying rubber and getting out of there.

The murder weapon was reported to be a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun

That was quite a group that she shot in the driver's door. I wonder if she was standing right next the the victim's car. The report says that it was a pharmacy drive through and usually those are pretty tight. It would be interesting to see how close she was when she pulled the trigger. Using the car to get away might have been nearly impossible.

There is a photo in the Galveston County Daily News where I can count five distinct bullet holes in the door of the vehicle below the driver side window, plus the window being shattered.

That is one full magazine from most if not all .380s.

That woman not only had a grudge but apparently did some practicing.

I only saw 4 in the door panel but three of them were pretty tight. It isn't clear how many of them went through the window but it looked like at least 2. Assuming she was firing them about as fast as she could, it clearly wasn't an emotion racked crime of sudden passion. The shooting was just too methodical.

What was that old saying about a woman scorned?

I see five. Two in the upper left are practically on top of one another. But whatever. The guy is dead. I feel sorry for his wife and other family.

It is bad enough to loose a loved one but to have it happen under circumstances like takes the hurt to a completely different level.
