He was a friend of mine. I was one of the many McCamey VFD firefighters tasked with assisting law enforcement on this scene. It was a very sad day. It has been hard on this community.

So, so sad for the LEO and his family. My thoughts and prayers are with them. As TexanJoker stated, it seems to be a far too frequent occurrence these days, instead of an anomaly....

It seems that the Texas Rangers apprehended the son of the shooter before he made it here. Thank God.

So sorry for the family of the officer. Seems like ever more often I receive notifications from 100 Club about our LEO's losing their life.

According to this particular news story, the assailant is not the finest model of upstanding citizenship. One of his former abodes was Huntsville Prison.
