House of Blues - Houston 30.06?

My wife has just informed me that "We are going to The House of Blues" on Friday night.

I checked Texas3006.net, it shows 51%, but not legal,
I checked TABC, it shows BLUE Sign

Anyone know if it is 30.06, or can I carry away?

Thanks

It was a couple months ago but I didn't see a sign. We were in one of the upstairs rooms.

Sorry, it was [Posted] but you didnt see a sign?
So it is properly 30.06? if so, how do you know when you didn't see the sign?
Sorry if I am a bit thick this morning, its early, and probably not reading your wording properly

I'm surprised the House of Blues is a TABC Blue sign. Every one I've been to obviously qualifies as a bar predominantly.

Based on that I would not have carried to begin with. :???:

Every time I have been to a show there I have been wanded, never carried cause I was drinking so didn't look for a sign.

Concern isn't so much as what is happeing in the venue, but to/from the parking lot(s).

No signange visable till after the valet kid drives off in your car, then there is a couple guys with 'wands' and you dump pocket contents into a container, raise your hands and turn around once.

The magical wand beeps a warning, and you leave your lady standing there while you try to find your vehicle to store the forbidden items. Then there was the walk back to the venue from the off-site parking lot..

It wasn't loads of fun.

I don't care if it is Elvis on vocals, Sinatra on back-up, JFK on skins, SRV on guitar, and free admission, it'ds gonna be a long dry spell before we cross the threshold of another House Of Blues.

Well, this answers it.
Not the answer I was looking for, and I am now not a happy camper.

Thanks for the info

Yessir, I wasn't armed either.

What I did have was a well pocket worn Swiss Army Knife, Electricians Model, and a Spiderco Co-Pilot money clip that had a folding blade. Both long since discontinued.

According to the guys with the wands, 'any edged weapon isn't allowed'. So, I took the walk and left my Lady standing there while I located our car.

But, had we gone into the Restaurant first, then crossed over into the venue, we would have bypassed the wand characters. They were using the wands on those who were in line for the venue. The restaurant was treated as a seperate entity.

Its been a few years now, but I don't remember the House Of Blues, Las Vegas being the least bit restrictive.

I wanted to close this thread by saying I did go to the House of Blues and did not carry.

When I got there, I saw no security, was not wanded or anything else.
My wife's purse was not searched

I did not see, but honestly did not look for at that point, a 30.06 sign, but being I never saw it, does that mean even if they had it, it was not conspicuously posted? (rhetorical)

So if you are planning to go there, at least as of October 12, 2013, I would say "CARRY"
and If I go back, I will also be carrying.

(These comments are only for HoB in Houston, not any other location, so if your HoB is in another city, they may have different rules, signs, or security)

The security there likely changes depending on the crowed that is attracted whatever artist is performing.

My wife and I went with friends to The House of Blues on Friday, Oct 18th to see Johnny Lang and had a great time. I didn't see any 30.06, no wands, searches but no Blue signs either.

I DID see a 51% sign on the first floor on the way out but could have made an argument on "conspicuous" I guess, maybe...

It is not a legal sign; House of Blues is not a 51% location.

The one in Dallas was wanding people at the door when I went last, but no signs were posted. I didn't feel like a fight with the door guy, so I didn't carry inside.

I've got an event for my band being nominated for an award tonight at House of Blues in Dallas. Was considering carrying.

I don't recall being wanded the few times I've been there, but if I try to enter with my pistol, do I show them the CHL & they'll let me in or will they give me notice?

If you show them a CHL they will tell you that you can't carry. Your best bet is to just carry and if they are wanding, go back to the car with it.
