That is a really nice shotgun. I almost went with that one, but ended up with something a little bit longer so I could also play on the skeet, trap, and 5-stand ranges as well as 3-gun. However, I still haven't done 3-gun yet. So many things to do and so little time.

I had one put around 2k rounds thru it. Cleaned it every 500 rnds. If it hiccups just lube the heck out of bolt. Sold it to buy a JM Pro

I've heard that it does not like light loads and some birdshot.

I have a 930 JM Pro, similar enough. IMHO:

1. Clean and lube well prior to shooting, you want the gas piston, gas cylinder and mag tube to be clean but NOT wet. The gas piston is two pieces, I take mine apart to clean. You can find a Youtube by searching for "mossberg 930 gas piston disassembly".

2. Break it in with heavy loads (1200+ fps) - I put 25 rounds of 00 buck, 50 rounds of heavy dove and some slugs down range before I got around to the Winchester Super Speed and Federal Value Pack. No FTE with that regimen for me.

3. Keep the gas system clean thereafter.

4. Check your mag tube for scratches near the threaded end when cleaning/reassembling; the heavy spring in the gas cylinder can get misaligned and scratch (gouge) the tube. I had to send mine back to Mossberg for that. They turned it around in a week.

YMMV, but break-in was the fun part. ;-)

Enjoy!

I have one, with a few mods: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=67657" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've changed the flashlight and removed the FastFire, but otherwise it's unchanged since that thread.

I got to take it to the range and put 90 rounds of Rio 00 buck and slugs through it. I then tried some older Winchester white box field loads it didn't like them . it might have been old ammo issues we will see.
