I can't remember if we've talked about this or not and the search brings up thousands of hits.

As more and more schools opt to allow some kind of CHL carry a question comes to mind.

School premise (the building(s)) themselves would be open to CHL carry if the district so allows. PC 46.03

I still see school sporting events, band contests, or other interscholastic events as being off-limits. PC 46.035

Even if allowed under 46.03 the CHL would still not be allowed into these competitions under PC 46.035.

Am I reading this correctly?

If so, all of these schools that allow their teachers, staff, or others to carry can still not carry at the Friday night football games or in the gym during a basketball game. Seems like a situation just waiting to happen.

School concerts and plays are under 46.03 so the "written regulations or written authorization of the institution" would apply.

School sports are under 46.035 so a school can't allow carry at a high school football game any more than Jerry Jones can allow carry at his team's games.

On "date", by action of the ***** board of trustees "name" is authorize to be in possession of a concealed handgun on school property, at school sponsored or sanctioned events, and at school board meetings. signed by superintendent and board president. Valid until "date".
