Thinking about mounting one of these red dot scopes with laser on a Bushmaster M4A3 (XM15-E2S) Anybody have any information on them? Not a lot of specs on the website. Are these 1X red dot scopes useable at or past 100 yards?

Update if anyone gives a hoot about this new red dot sight from Redfield. It appears to be a nice sight for 180 dollars. I mounted it on a picatinny carry handle adaptor until I change out the front sight gas block. The laser is directly under the sight so it should be good if you can see it on the target. The red / green dot sight is crystal clear.

I haven't found a gas block I like so I will try to bore sight / zero it on the carry handle in a couple days just to see if it can be done. It sits really high above the bore...

Update on the Redfield CounterStrike red dot sight mounted on Bushmaster M4A3. Replaced front site with a low profile railed gas block from YHM so the laser would be useable with the sight mounted on the rail instead of the carry handle. Those front sight pins were a pain removing and I had to use a steel hammer to loosen them up enough to tap them out. Roll pin came out easy enough.

All firing was from a Caldwell Lead Sled DFT bench. Sighted laser at 50 yards and its dead on using Hornady ammo. The red dot sight was zeroed at 100 yards and those groups were 2-4 inches due to the size of the dot covering the targets I had. I should have adjusted the brightness to see if I could get on the bulls-eye better but did not think about it. A larger bulls-eye target would have helped as well. Lesson learned on my first red dot sight. I should have played with it more.

Evidently I didn't have enough lube on the bolt and found a busted gas ring that evening while cleaning.
Replaced gas ring and fired 200 rounds of Remington through it the next morning to check it all out. Remington bulk ammo is way dirty but much cheaper than Hornady...

Great red dot & laser combo sight for 170 dollars...

FWIW, Redfield is owned by Leupold, and its riflescopes are made in the Leupold factory by the same people who make Leupolds. I assume that the same is true about their RDS. In any case, early on when Leupold acquired Redfield, they committed themselves to maintaining Leupold build quality in the Redfield line. I think the primary difference between the two lines would be innovation and quality of glass and other materials. But you can count on Redfield optics being put together very well.

I had no idea Leupold made Redfield when I was looking for a red dot or I would have just bought it straight away. My dad told me when I checked the price with him. The only non Leupold scope I have is a Pentax since they were the only ones that had a camouflage Real Tree Scope that matched my camouflage Real Tree muzzle loader. I'm particular about stuff matching. Except my boot socks it appears, looking at my feet on the coffee table.
